This song is another reason to survive

A Reason French Blueish Purple Suede

I sure hope that the title of the tune actually isn't 'another reason to survive' because my review title is meant to convey that the slide from melancholy to uplift in this tune is one reason to stick around.

I'm a sucker for this type of uplifting tune. It has a bit of a '70's dated feel to it, but it's a type of song I like, so I'll call it more retro than dated. The melody in the Chorus is quite memorable, and is quite stuck in my head at the moment.

The piano arpeggio's just begging for resolution in the verse set up a nice transition to the chorus, which is emotive and uplifting.

I'm also a sucker for the Karen Carpenter to sultry low voiced slow tremolo female lead vocals.

The harmonies were spot on.

It was nice hear a real sax, but this is the second song in this review pair where there was only 4 second sax solo! Is that the same sax line the second time around? Do sax players charge by the note?

The bass and choppy rhythm guitar set up a 'Steely Dan' like groove.

I loved the ending.. I wish there was a bit more of that with the flute before the very end.

Overall, it's not a barn-burner and probably won't be a hit tune, but it's NICE and it's perfectly executed and I like it.
