Seriously dance-able groove with 'Buster'-fun vocals

Sinner Girl Elvis ate my Goat

The rhythm bed of this tune is terrific. I felt a desire to jump up and start dancing. The guitars are excellent. The bass is extraordinary and itself worth a repeated listens, and is what really drives this.

The lead vocals reminded me a bit of Robert Palmer, even more so when the vocalist doubled at a higher octave. The vocals are quite distinctive and they give the impression that the vocalist is having fun and not taking himself or the song too seriously, which melded well with the groove and the ending.

In the beginning, I was a bit off-put by the white man singing black in singing 'door' as 'doe'...but as I mentioned in the last paragraph, it all kind of works together and adds a bit of fun camp to a seriously dance-able groove. If the singer wasn't going for his 'Buster Poindexter' side, then I apologize. Fwiw, I like 'Buster Poindexter'

The only "huh?" moment was when it seemed as though we were going to be treated to a groovy sax solo only to get a couple of notes. It's like there was only enough money in the budget for 4 seconds of the sax guys time.

For some reason I can't go back and listen to the tune again, so this all based on a 'first' listen. I wanted more.
