melt the cheese and add it to the chicken
WTF? this is a rock song? in what bizarro world?
oh well ... I'll roll with it cus I'm so incredibly adept at being flexible and don't wear whitey tighties.
quirky beat. first it makes me want to move and then suddenly it makes me want to freeze in my tracks. like I'm some sort of animation and a bastard freak is doing the dance editing.
did I mention oh well?
on those drums ... they mostly all sound good. but the snare is bugging me. no beef and no snap. like it's made of really thick paper. when it's so dominant, it's gotta be right and this snare is shit.
nice bass walking but bring it up in the low end mix please. it's far more feel than note and tho I do like that concept, with the thumping, I want the pumping. note. give me note.
cool horns. sorta retro and tho I am gonna guess they're all samples or even *gasp* simply midi, I like the intent. friggin'fun piano tickling .... tight playing in a loose feel. I like that - sorta mardi gras.
speaking of tight ... even tho the beat gets a little disjointed by all the resolution, the whole instrumental bed is really together and well .. tight.
but - where's the guitar? a rock song with no guitar? are you a daft old bat? I feel so used and cheated. and I dribbled.
the vocalist is pretty unique and to a degree - coolish. he doesn't pretend to wanna be some crooner or some ultra sheened slick fly boy. he just puts his own twist on the song and let's it fly. not quite jazzy, certainly not rocky or poppy but somehow accessible
all in all, the song is a study in quirk. but I must admit I was drawn in.kill me now please.
