Really good band, troll...just got addicted to their "Courage of Others" album after reading a 5 star review in The Times.

They're about to do a European tour. They've already sold out Manchester and London, apparently.

maybe not "the formula" but not inaccessible. nice low register harms, nice acoustic sound, warm recordings, steady rhythms, catchy melodies - basically good folk rock type stuff - actually harkens back to the 60's in a lot of ways .... a little edgy cus of the electric guitars and a little off beat but old school with the flutes and maybe some of the vocal arrangements. and horns.

otherwise there's a lot of ingredients that have been successful for some over the years in their stuff ... a diverse integration. did I read that some of their loves included edgar winter? don't hear it in the music but those of that actually know a bit about EW know that yeah, he's a bit artsy when you dig below the hits ...

I suppose it's off formula cus of lyrical content but as usual - I'm not the least bit concerned with that till the melodies and lyrical flow grabs me first and by and large - it does.

how are they live? close to the record?

btw - HEAD HOME is a pop rock gem that could happen in any era. great elements - in a different time and place, it's a hit.
I understand where you're coming from. it needs a wipe.

Agreed...beautiful tune...it's not on the new album...only the first two tunes on their MySpaz page are. I like their approach and the low register vocals are pure ear candy...the harmonies on Roscoe for instance are way sweet.
