Birdie Friend

Postby Greenfleamusic » Mon Feb 08, 2010 2:05 pm

A simple childrens song. From my catalouge of childrens song startd about 5 years ago. It sort of dropped off.

As will I for a bit. Let my name dissapate from the board. I have a tendency to be overzealous. silly? yep... even silly!
Extremely low-fi recording... about 4 years old. ( fitting ) Back when my hearing was a bit better.
( Chorus )
My little birdie friend way up high she's so happy and I dont know why
she sings so sweet she make me want to cry my little birdie friend way up high

She sing a chirp song make you smile, take your mind off things a little while
she sing in the city and she sing in the jungle
she never goof up and make a little bungle

she dont sit around in the ice and the snowka she dont dilly round and do the slow polka
she got to lay the egg with the yolka she fly down real fast to jamoka

she dont got a lot of thing to make a mess amd a muddle she take a bath in a itty bitty puddle
she dont stay on the ground with the nast things
she sits way up high in the tree.. and she sings

My little birdie friend way up high.. time to flap your wings and say goodbye
my little birdie friend... way up high. my little birdie friend way up high.

This reminds me of Jim Croce or David Bromberg doing a children's song.

Did you say widdle once?

I guess it woulld be foolish to point out the lyrics get a little silly. I find myself both attracted and repelled by the polka rhymes verse.

Very pretty melody, albeit more subtle than simple. I want to hear it simpler than it is, and I think if it had been played that way it would have been the same song.

So far, Bill, you have given us a wholesome slice of musical fare, all very exceptionally performed, and I wonder if you have a darker or wilder side yet to show us. It's alright by me if you don't, just curious.
How long does it take a genius to figure out his avatar and signature?

Flea, I gotta tell ya, I generally don't like the guitar-singer thing, but you do it very well my man. I like your tunes quite a bit, I find them a little infectious. Really good stuff here..

Very sweet. Has the ingredients of a lullaby except it gets a bit loud and enthusiastic. :D
Something weird is happening with the recording, it comes and goes like someone is continually lifting the whole thing in and out of a cardboard box. Not vinyl, is it? Your voice is nice and this song/delivery reminds me of a girl called Zobear who used to hang with us until she didn't wanna stay on the ground with the nast(y) things no more.
