maybe but it is kinda unfair of you to use it as such dontcha think jaymzie? not that it's a hotbed of action but I thought you created the dump for JUST this reason?
I understand where you're coming from. it needs a wipe.

well - now that you asked ....

the dump is nearly exclusively YOU. for file pickup - fine ... this forum is for all members to post where they can get their music heard collectively. not so much song by song. I know cus I added this forum. by need. I tried to set an example of how it should be used but thus far, few have jumped on it's concept - ok, but that doesn't mean it's supposed to turn into the jaymz forum. that's the dump.

if you end up having 10 of the last 12 threads, people will see only those and others won't get the exposure. (it's not there yet but if you look at the dump, you'll see what needs to be avoided here)

if it's reviews you would like man - there's the review forum. yes, I know you posted recently and didn't get much in the way of reviews but as you know, this is a reciprocal world we have here. and yeah I know you don't like reviewing but oh well, you get what you give.

all right? you asked.

I sense a small amount of negativity just awaiting to be released in some form.. like somehow I've complained about an item and you are dying to throw up a rebuttal?

But I don't see a need or reason.

I posted the song here because I wanted people to hear it.. that's all.

I posted some songs in reviews because that's where they belonged. If someone wanted to review it they would. If they didn't they don't.

I never said I didn't like to do reviews on here. I didn't like to do them on GB because I was a gold member. No point.

I haven't done many reviews here lately because most of the time I'm on a laptop and I can't hear the music very well.

But we were talking about fairness in some form.. I think...

then your senses are dulled by chemicals, too much meat or maybe, too much sex. no negativity.

everything I said in my previous post jaymz.

I posted the song here because I wanted people to hear it.. that's all.

ok - but it certainly appeared as if it were another "idea" - like the last one you posted the other day - something you were using the dump for - we thought ...

But we were talking about fairness in some form.. I think...

yes - that's what I'm talking about. and it may seem sorta silly with so little in this forum otherwise but conceptually speaking, a new thread for every idea is eventually gonna muck up what I initially intended to be a "band" or "artist" spam forum. not song by song but a place where folks could link up websites, artist myspace pages, etc. maybe even individual songs uploaded.

and to be sure, there's not much direction about that in the forum header but I'll correct that.

it'll be best if people create one thread per band. whether for links or for projects or songs. add to THAT thread for additional news, events, albums, releases, etc. that gives everyone who wants to a fighting chance to be on page 1 or at least near the top as often as possible so everyone can get exposure.

follow that?

and just so I follow - you said this forum was better than the dump but you said the dump was a place for "outsiders" mostly to grab your songs - people you were working with etc ... is that not right? and if so, that inference tells me that's what this thread is for too? I dunno ....

anyway - it's not a world changing event but while it's still a molehill, it's best that we define this subforum and it's just not for individual song placement.

so what band is this jaymz, we'll rename the thread and combine stuff for ya.

notwithstanding where it was posted, I had a listen and wasn't at all surprised at the quality. Amongst all of us here at AR, you're the one who consistently produces the most contemporary sounding, radio-ready rock/pop songs. Your handle on production is way above anything else I've heard here, although your mixing skills aren't...I prefer a stronger vocal mix than you generally offer. As I've always said, I admire what you do immensely, but the songs just never seem to quite resonate with me...I never feel the urge to play them again...but there's no accounting for taste. I know, from my own teenage daughter, that your stuff rocks!

It's not news that Jaymz & the Boy Band aren't targeting their stuff at old farts like us, or that ironically we're likely to be the best at articulating what we feel about it. This one really does everything I'd ask for in a pop song, mostly in the right order, and I think that's the problem it's giving me. I get the feeling that my emotional switches are being professionally thrown via a recipe, and that the motivation behind writing the song in the first place somehow lost its momentum several recording sessions ago in order to do that. Even the (best bit) nice rousing crescendo at 1:28 to 1:30 ("der der der der, frying your wrong face" or whatever the ferk it sez) has distanced itself from its root by cunning. I'd really like to hear someone like Flea or Troll busk this tune. :D

So the guitars need to be louder?

(isn't that always the case...)

I don't get it either, what is it Jaymz lack of good representation?

Here's a song I wrote tonight.. all in about 2 hours, so uh it is what it is.

You think the lyrics should be happy and upbeat or should it be about a child molestor?
